Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) released the following statement on the recently announced U.S. Department of Transportation grant of $4,140,000 for residential noise mitigation measures around Key West International Airport.

“Many thanks to Congressman Curbelo and his staff for assisting us in securing this important funding that will provide our airport neighbors with essential noise insulation home improvements,” said Director of Key West International and Florida Keys Marathon International Airports Don DeGraw.

“This grant will be a great relief to the residents surrounding the increasingly busy Key West International Airport,” Curbelo said. “I was glad to support the bill that made this grant possible and I look forward to keeping up with the progress to make sure this gets done as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Funding for this program was made available in H.R. 244, “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017,” legislation supported  by Rep. Curbelo.
