Congressman Curbelo Statement on Appointment to Education and the Workforce Subcommittees
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Yesterday it was announced that Rep. Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) has been appointed to the following Education and the Workforce Subcommittees:
"These assignments will allow me to draw from my experience as a member of the Miami-Dade County School Board to address some of the challenges facing families in the 26th District and Florida," Rep. Curbelo said. "I am honored to have the opportunity to work with my Education and the Workforce colleagues and Chairman Kline. I look forward to serving my constituents as we tackle important priorities including the improvement of our country's K-12 and higher education system."
The Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education has jurisdiction over education from early learning through the high school level. The Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training has authority over education and training beyond high school level learning including, but not limited to, higher education generally, postsecondary student assistance and employment services.
In the 114th Congress, Rep. Curbelo will serve on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, the Education and the Workforce Committee, and the Small Business Committee.
