Miami, Florida—It was announced today by the Federal Aviation Administration that Miami Executive Airport will receive $229,926 for improvements to the intersection of runways. Rep. Curbelo (FL-26) offered the following statement in strong support of this grant:

“I am pleased that Miami Executive Airport has received these funds to make needed improvements to their runways. These improvements are part of the FAA’s runway incursion mitigation program to enhance the safety for all passengers and airport personnel. As one of the busiest general aviation airports in Florida, it is critical that those who rely on this facility for convenience and commerce know air traffic is handled in a safe manner. I congratulate Miami Executive Airport on this award and look forward to continue working together for the betterment of our South Florida community.”

Rep. Curbelo is a member of the Aviation Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives and has had legislation signed into law to make air travel more safe.
