“After so many years of heated debate, it's time for Congress to come together and produce results. Senator Tillis is working with both parties to try and build a broad proposal that will tighten border security and enforce our immigration laws, while also providing certainty and relief for immigrants who have been contributing to our country's economy. I applaud his effort to build consensus on a solution and I look forward to continuing to work with him on this issue.”

Today, Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) applauded Senator Thom Tillis’ (NC) recent efforts to build broad support for a comprehensive immigration reform proposal.

Curbelo met with Tillis earlier this month to discuss Curbelo’s work on immigration reform in the House, including his previously introduced Recognizing American Children (RAC) Act and the newly introduced BRIDGE Act, which Curbelo co-sponsored.

“There is a great deal of anxiety among our immigrant communities, especially in South Florida,” Curbelo said.

“The American people want to see Congress work across the aisle to deliver results, especially when it comes to finally securing the border and fixing our nation’s broken immigration system,” said Tillis. “Bipartisan immigration reform is within reach, but it will require elected officials from both parties to forge the courage to stand up to the most extreme voices on both sides in order to pursue pragmatic solutions that will make our country safer and our economy stronger.”
