Yesterday, Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) met with Assistant Secretary of the Navy Steven Iselin and other U.S. Navy officials and urged the Navy to continue moving forward with the process of opening up the currently vacant Sigsbee Housing units.

Curbelo explained the severe lack of affordable housing available in the Keys and urged the Navy more efficiently utilize the vacant units, to which the Navy assured it would begin the process of assessing interest in the project in the coming weeks.

Curbelo also discussed the meeting in an interview earlier today on US1 News Radio’s “Morning Magazine with Bill Becker.”

A partial transcript of the interview is below. A video is available here, and broadcast quality audio is available for download here.
