Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) released the following statement commenting on U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (U.N.) Nikki Haley’s vote against the U.N. General Assembly’s resolution calling for an end to the U.S. sanctions against Cuba:

“I commend Ambassador Haley for her leadership in promoting freedom and democratic reform in Cuba. The United States will not tolerate tyrannical dictatorships that undermine American interests and threaten our national security while oppressing the most basic human rights of their people. I applaud Ambassador Haley and the Administration for this important message they are sending to the Cuban people: The United States stands with you and your hopes and aspirations for a free and democratic Cuba have not been forgotten.”
