Rep. Curbelo Votes for NDAA Conference Report
Washington, D.C.—Today, the House adopted the Conference Report to H.R. 1735, the FY2016 National Defense Authorization (NDAA) Act. Rep. Curbelo, a Member of the NDAA Conference Committee, issued the following statement:
“As a Conferee, I am proud to have signed and voted in favor of the NDAA Conference Report for FY 2016. I am also extremely grateful that my bill H.R. 1386, the SESO Act, was included as part of this critical NDAA legislation. The SESO Act gives entrepreneurs new opportunities intended to simplify the government procurement bidding process, making it fairer for small businesses to compete in the marketplace.
The NDAA Conference Report that was adopted in the House today includes full range authorization for military operations for FY 2016 at $515 billion, with $89.2 billion in Overseas Contingency Operations funding. This bill provides our troops with the resources they need by reallocating funds to more crucial priorities, which will in turn improve our military's efficiency and dexterity. As Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, it is a privilege to represent my South Florida constituents while working on the very important issues affecting our military servicemen and women.”The Conference Report to H.R. 1735, the National Defense Authorization Act for FY16 was adopted in the House on October 1, 2015 with a vote of 270-156.
