Rep. Curbelo Supports Passage of H.R. 3762
Washington, D.C.—Today, the U.S. House of Representatives Concurred in the Senate Amendment to H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015. Rep. Curbelo released the following statement in support of its adoption:
"The adoption of the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act focuses on patient-centered healthcare plans by returning power to American consumers and families through free market solutions. H.R. 3762 will reduce the national deficit by $516 billion from 2016 to 2025, eliminating new bureaucracies and mandates created by the Affordable Care Act, including the repeal of the burdensome Cadillac Tax. Many of these mandates and taxes have resulted in fewer jobs, lower incomes, and poor quality healthcare for some of our country's neediest families. Additionally, H.R. 3762 provides States with grants to be used towards eradicating substance abuse and supporting public and mental health programs. I support Speaker Ryan’s plan to present a Republican alternative to this misguided law, and commend his continued leadership to put Americans first. Repealing the most harmful elements of the Affordable Care Act is an important step, but is not enough."
The Senate Amendment to H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015 was adopted in the House on January 6, 2015 by a vote of 240-181.
