Washington, D.C.—Today, Rep. Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) attended a meeting with Colombia's President Santos.

"I am grateful for President Santos' invitation to meet with him during his visit to our country. For 15 years, the US and Colombia have maintained a successful partnership to strengthen Colombia's democratic institutions and to defeat the terrorist FARC. While I have some serious concerns regarding the "peace process" undertaken by the Santos Administration, I believe it is essential for our country to continue supporting Colombia's efforts to develop its economy, dismantle dangerous drug trafficking networks, and make the Colombian military more robust. This is a major priority for me and for South Florida's Colombian-American community which I am proud to represent in Congress."
